With many interesting locations being mooted for Anthony Joshua Vs Wladimir Klitschko 2, it’s emerged that the 20,000 capacity T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will be the highly probable chosen venue for the highly anticipated rematch between the two heavyweights.
Dubai, Germany and the birth place of Joshua’s parents; Nigeria have all been considered as favourites at some point to host the heavyweight rematch. Promoter Eddie Hearn told IFL TV “I was in Las Vegas last week, applying for my promotional licence. I had meeting with MGM, went to the T-Mobile, AJ was out there as well. We are making good progress. I think Klitschko is going to take the fight and I think the fight will take place in Vegas. It’s (T-Moblie Arena) is an unbelievable stadium, it feels right.”
The 80,000 seater Millennium stadium in Cardiff is a distant second place to stage Joshua Vs Klitschko 2. “I think it’s between Cardiff and Las Vegas” Hearn continued in the same interview with IFL TV “The issue is they have just done Wembley with 90,000. This could be the final fight of his (Klitschko’s) career, I think he wants that major worldwide event. He’s just done 90,000 at Wembley, I don’t think 80,000 at Cardiff is as attractive as a big Las Vegas fight. We will get an answer shortly and I think his answer will be Las Vegas.”
